The period of Year I to III of Phase I: National competitiveness and Vitality of a nation, and Korea Economic Society

Comprehensive research on national competitiveness/vitality that determine the national development and status by doing research into the contents·requirements·measurement indices of the national competitiveness and vitality by historical consideration and empirical approach.

Analysis on the current state and background of developed and small but strong countries’ national competitiveness/vitality.

Analysis on the current situation of Korean national competitiveness/vitality and research on its improvement plan.

The period of Year II of Phase I to Year I of Phase II: Research on the problems of Korean economy as an Advanced Emerging Economy

Research on the properties and practical problems of advanced emerging countries and examination on solutions by applying to Korean economy.

Derivation of an initiation plan to developing countries by establishing the foundation for the research on advanced emerging economies.

Korea is still considered as an ‘Advanced Emerging Country’ not a Developed country.

The period of Year I to II of Phase II: Middle Income Trap and Korean economy

Korean economy, which was once considered as an exemplary country of Industrialization and Democracy, has currently faced several challenges and lost its momentum of growth. The solutions to this problem has been tried to solved by doing comprehensive research into it.

The Year II of Phase II: Research on the application of human capital and physical capital for sustainable long-term development
